The night before Christmas . . . . and all through the house, the kids were gathering the cookies and milk, wanting stories to be read near their Christmas tree, and dreaming of Santa and reindeer. After coming home from Cincinnati, Jack would check the tree every night to see if Santa had come. Poor guy. Santa finally came New Years Eve and Jack claims that he saw Santa and his reindeer from his bedroom window. Alex was more interested in playing trains and eating the candy canes. We have learned that we cannot keep low lying candy canes on the tree, unless we want to clean the red out of the carpet for months! Alex loved all of the balls that he received, the magna tiles and marbles. Jack was a big fan of his titanic book. He also still loves to play trains every so often so the train table was a hit.
Christmas Morning
Jack woke up in the middle of the night but did not notice the presents under his tree. A few hours later, he finally arose and got Alex up too. It was chaos as usual, Austin running all around and smelling all the presents. Jack opened the presents under his tree, ran downstairs and found Santa's footprints, and then noticed the Christmas tree. It did not take long for the train table to be unraveled. It is our tradition to open the stockings, have cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, and then open the rest of the presents. It is an all morning affair.
