Jack's Fourth Birthday! We had Jack's birthday party on Saturday, December 6th. Jack and the girls had a lot of fun. We went to the Rockford Santa parade first. The party started after the parade at the Rockford Lanes. The kids had a ball bowling. I made Jack's train cake for the third year. Noticeably absent from the decorative gingerbread tree in the middle of the train cake was the star. We could not figure out who ate it. In the picture, you notice that it has not yet been eaten. Well, Jack finally confessed that he ate it at the party. No big deal but the mystery has finally been solved. All of us were exhausted after the party. I cannot believe our little boy is four years old. We went to the doctor on Jack's birthday (luckily the doctor spared him his shots). He is in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Basically, the doctor said he is a five year old.

Jack requested Macaroni and Cheese for his birthday dinner and to go to the Fifth Third Ballpark Festival of Lights. We drove through the lights four times! Next year, we have already been told that we will go through five times. We were lucky to take a break from Jack's favorite band, Journey, to listen to Christmas music for the Festival of Lights but Journey was requested for the ride home.

I did not make a cake for Jack's actual birthday because he already had the Thomas cake in Cincinnati and we were having cake at the birthday party on Saturday. Well, Jack did not like that idea so we headed to Meijers to get some ice cream and donuts. We finally opened presents around 10:00 pm. Jack's favorite gift was the book Arnie the donut, which was ironic since we had donuts for his birthday cake. We read Arnie the donut every night.

Jack, you have taught us to laugh and not to cry over spilled milk, especially since it is usually spilled at least once a week! You love to argue with us and tell us that we are wrong and you are right. Your favorite saying is "When little boys get candy at Kindermusik, then they can eat it when they get home." You make lots of different rules. You are a joy and we love you lots.
