Samantha is 3 months old!
Samantha is following everyone around with her eyes. She loves to smile and is very ticklish! I love her little laugh. She has just figured out her little hands and grabs everything, including her pacifier. It is so much fun to see her look at her hand, trying to figure it out.
This is the month that Mommy had to go back to work - I miss your smiles in the morning but luckily, you have been giving me big smiles when I get home too!
Samantha sleeps really well. She only wakes up when it is time to eat around 5:30 am. Daddy loves to wrap you up in the "miracle" blanket - maybe it does work! She slept through the night on August 6th! Yeah!
We had your Baptism on Sunday, July 18th. Both grandparents, Uncles Matt, Lonnie and David, Aunts Julie and Joyce were all present. Your cousins Maya, Amy, Elizabeth and Abby also came to see you. Uncle David and Aunt Julie are your godparents. It was an exhausting weekend. We went to Saugatuck and took the Duck Tour. You did not cry at all when the priest poured the water over your head but you were hungry and it was lasting too long so you cried out of frustration. It was funny to watch Alex wear down several adults during the Baptism. We would see him running toward the musical instruments and he yelled pretty loudly about the balls in the gym.
Mommy made a cake that resembled your baptismal gown. It was a hit! Daddy made a baby carriage fruit dish. He is very talented! You had a great time being held and were exhausted. We all had to recover the following week.
On July 31st, we put you in the exersaucer for the first time. It is still a little big for you but you are holding up your head so well! Alex just loved the exersaucer that he crawled right in. He was introducing you to the "monkey" and "banana." He loves to imitate what your big brother Jack is doing. We hear "hi, big girl" from Jack and Alex. They also like to feed you. Alex was very sweet today when he brought a blanket over to you and tucked you in. Alex wants "uppy" many times while I am holding you. Luckily, I have enough room for both of you.
Jack told me that he wanted to marry you last week. He mentioned that Alex will have to find someone else! You are eating about 6 ounces per feeding. We are looking forward to feeding you cereal soon!
You also love to suck on your fingers. You may be a thumb sucker just like Mommy - we will see! Your favorite book is about the polar bear that pops out at you.
