Thomas Day Out! How we love Thomas Day Out in Flint. It is still a favorite of the boys. We leave by 7:00 am to make our train at 10:00 am. We pack a picnic lunch and some snacks and we are off! This year, we got there early and waited for a caboose pass. We have learned the trick to sit up high in the caboose from previous visits. This year, Alex was singing along with the Thomas songs on the train ride. By the end of the day, he was saying goodbye to Thomas.
After the train ride, we visited the moon bounces and train tables. We then had lunch and watched the model trains. The highlight was the conductor scolding Mike for putting his hands over the glass edge. It was nice this year that Jack was tall enough to watch without being held.
Soon after, we went to get our Thomas tattoos - Jack wanted Thomas and Alex only wanted Harold the helicopter (the "plane"). This year we also decided to try the boat ride at the park. It was great to sit and relax. Alex fell asleep in my lap. He was so tired.
As always, it is an exhausting day. On the way out, we watched the model trains again and headed to the candy store (another new addition to Thomas Day Out). We can't pull the wool over their eyes forever! Samantha had a good day too - she was only there for the ride.
