The First Day of Kindergarten.  Jack started Kindergarten on Wednesday, September 8.  It was so sad for Mommy - my little boy heading off to school but I know he was so ready to go.  He wanted to go the day after he turned 5 years old.  He told everyone he was heading to school the day after his birthday.  

I just remember the little boy who loved his trains, riding his little bike, reading books, putting together puzzles, and riding his scooter.  I know you will always be the little boy who would run into my arms when I would pick you up from daycare.

The day of orientation was hard but we are so excited for you to meet new friends.  You had so much fun riding the bus with all the kids - of course, you had to be the first in line.  

The morning of school, we took lots of pictures and made a special lunch with your heart sandwich (Daddy wonders if we will be making heart sandwiches when you are in high school).  We put the family picture in your lunch so you would know that we were thinking of you.  

Mommy dropped you off at school the first day.  We were instructed by Sra. Chuchoque to drop you off at the playground.  You wanted me to stay around with you.  I stayed for awhile but eventually had to let you go.  You have grown up way too fast.  You told your teacher that you did not know any Spanish.

On your first day of school, you came home with a gold star.  Daddy thought it was the best star you could get.  Mommy noticed the corresponding note that mentioned a gold star is when you need reminders during the day.  A green star is the best star.  We are now on the fifth gold star.  Your explanations are funny - they include, the teacher is out of green stars and once you receive a gold star, you always receive a gold star.

You started out school with two less teeth on the bottom.   The tooth fairy brought a silver dollar and gold coin to you.
