DAY ONE - MAGIC KINGDOM (CONTINUED)

After the Princess breakfast, we all headed out of the castle and into the Magic Kingdom to meet up with the rest of the family - Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Pat, Aunt Nettie, Maya, Jacob, and Uncle Matt. But first, Jack wanted to try pulling the sword from the stone in front of Cinderella's Carousel. Unfortunately, Jack had no luck but it was not for a lack of trying.

We met up with the rest of the family and went on our first ride of the trip - It's a Small World. This is Daddy's favorite ride. Everyone loved it - especially Alex who was mesmerized by all the singing children.

After It's a Small World, we all headed over to Peter Pan's Magic Flight. The line was pretty long, but worth it. Except for Jacob (and Aunt Nettie and Uncle Matt) who did not enjoy the ride as much as everyone else. After Peter Pan, Uncle Pat, Maya, Jacob, Jack, Alex, Mommy and Daddy all went to Mickey's Philharmonic - a 4d Movie. The movie was great. Everyone loved it except Alex who did not like getting squirted by water. After Philharmonic, we all took a ride on Winnie the Pooh's Magic Adventure. That was a hit with everyone. After Winnie the Pooh, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Pat, Aunt Nettie, Uncle Matt, Maya and Jacob all went to lunch while Mommy, Daddy, Jack, and Alex checked out the Haunted Mansion. Jack was a little nervous at first, but once the ride got started, he was OK. We think he liked it.

After the Haunted Mansion, we headed to the Cosmic Cafe to see where the rest of the family were - still eating lunch. So we decided to head over to Adventureland. However, on the way to Adventureland, we saw that Cinderella's stepmother (Lady Trumaine) and stepsisters (Anastatia and Drizella) in the courtyard of Cinderella's castle. They were hysterical and very much in character. When it was finally our turn to meet them, Drizella screamed in delight when she saw her character on Jack's Autograph book. She showed the autograph book to Anastasia and Lady Tremaine each one having their own personalized page to sign. They all spent a lot of time talking with Jack and interacting with Alex. Drizella asked if Daddy was taken. They might have been our favorite character encounter.

After our meeting with Lady Trumaine, we again started making our way to Adventureland. However, as we passed in front of the castle, we noticed that there was a show about to start, so we hung around to watch that. Once the show was over, we decided to head over to Mickey's Toon Town to meet up with Maya and Jacob. Jack, Maya, Uncle Pat, Jacob, Mommy and Daddy all rode Goofy's Barnstormer. Fortunately the line was pretty short, so we got to ride it multiple times. This may have been Jack's favorite ride. After Goofy's Barnstormer, Daddy, Mommy, Jack, Alex, and Grandpa took a ride on the Magic Kingdom railroad while Alex took a nap in Grandma's arms in Toontown.

After the railroad ride, we all headed over to Tomorrowland to meet up with Uncle Pat, Uncle Matt, Aunt Nettie, Maya and Jacob. We all had Fastpasses for Space Mountain. Mommy, Uncle Pat, and Uncle Matt went first while Daddy and Auntie Nettie watched the kids. Jack occupied himself by standing under the Coke Cool Spot (it shot a watery mist to cool everyone down once a minute). Once Mommy and Uncle Pat returned, Uncle Matt, Daddy, and Auntie Nettie took their turn.

After Space Mountain, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Matt, Uncle Pat, Aunt Nettie, Maya, and Jacob decided to call it a day. Mommy, Daddy, Alex, and Jack decided to keep on going. We followed Space Mountain with Buzz Lightyear's ride. Jack rode with Daddy and Alex rode with Mommy. Daddy got the high score of the entire group (98,000). Mommy did not do so well but Alex had a good time. Jack and Alex took a picture with Zerg - Buzz Lightyear's nemesis and the villain you are trying to defeat on the Buzz Lightyear ride.

After Buzz Lightyear, we finally made our way over to Adventureland. First stop was the Dole Pineapple Ice Cream shop where Daddy bought everybody Dole Whip Floats. A Dole Whip Float is Dole soft serve pineapple ice-cream and either orange juice or pineapple juice. It was very refreshing. Next, we checked out the Tiki Room. The show ended early due to technical difficulties we never were able to figure out. After Tiki Room we got a Fastpass for the Jungle Cruise and then walked over to Pirates of the Caribbean. Amazingly, there was almost no line at all for Pirates of the Caribbean despite the fact that many of the other main attraction rides has 45- 70 minute waits. Both Jack and Alex really liked Pirates of the Caribbean. After Pirates, we walked over to Aladdin's Flying Carpets. The line was almost nil - so we road it 4 straight times.

It was now time for the fireworks, so we made our way over to Cinderella's Castle to scope out a spot for the fireworks. The fireworks were amazing as usual. They started with Tinkerbell flying from the castle to Tomorrowland. Both Jack and Alex loved the fireworks - Alex especially liked them and would scream and clap his hands with delight with each explosion. After the fireworks, we went back to Adventureland to ride the Jungle Cruise. That is a really neat ride to ride at night - it makes the ride a little spookier which Jack actually liked. After the Jungle Cruise we headed over to Big Thunder railroad, but the line was too long. We then headed over to Main Street to check out the various shops. After spending some time at the shops , we scoped out a spot to the Spectrum Magic Parade. This is Daddy's favorite parade - and the boys really liked it as well. Alex pointed out every float as it passed by.

After Spectrum Magic, we headed out of the park, exhausted but happy after spending an amazing day in the Magic Kingdom. By the time we reached the hotel, both boys were asleep. It was a great day.
